Shaolin Kungfu and Chaohua Blowing-song Take Part in the Concert of the Intangible Cultural Heritage

A large-scale immersive concert of the intangible cultural heritage titled the “Chinese Rites and Music • Pure Music of the Great River” was held at the Zhengzhou Grand Theatre successfully on the evening of June 30, 2021. This is a song of praise to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, and also an appreciation of the classical court music about it. The national intangible cultural heritage--Shaolin Kungfu and Chaohua blowing-song attended the concert, being well received extensively. 

It was reported, as a show for the celebration of the 100 anniversary of the founding of the CPC spontaneously sponsored by the public, the performance integrated four intangible cultural heritage groups including Chaohua blowing-song, Shaolin Kungfu, Zhu Zaiyu classical court music and spar articles. The cast included around one hundred people. The live performance of Shaolin Kungfu and Chaohua Blowing-song attracted audience immersed in a thick atmosphere of Zhengzhou excellent traditional culture.

Shaolin Kungfu

 

Shaolin Kungfu means a traditional Chinese cultural system shaping in the special Buddhist cultural environment, based on Buddhist faith and fully embodying wisdom of Chan Buddhism, and also taking Shaolin monks practicing Kungfu as the main form, with a history of more than 1500 years. Chan Buddhism is a school of Buddhism which is gradually sinicized. It greatly enriches Chinese thought treasury and has a deep and long impact on Chinese culture. Shaolin Kungfu was listed as the world intangible cultural heritage in 2006.

Chaohua Blowing-song is a very ancient a pattern of manifestation for wind music in our country. It developed from Guchui music, and blowing and percussion in the Han Dynasty. The main musical instrument of blowing song is pipe which is the earliest musical instrument of China. It had appeared in the Shang Dynasty, with a history of more than 4000 years.

Chinese rites and music is a respect and joy from the heart. Pure music of the great river is the sound of the right mindfulness. These treasures of old but vibrant Chinese folk music gathered together, which gave a feel of refreshing to the heart and pleasing to the eye as well as mind refreshing. (Edited by Kongming)
