Shaolin Monks Work Outdoor to Pick Male Flowers of Eucommia Ulmoides

On the eve of the Qingming Shaolin monks delightedly worked outdoor, picking male flowers of eucommia ulmoides to prepare fine raw materials for eucommia tea making in the mountain nearly the permanent residence Shaolin Temple compound on Festival of April 3, 2024.

 


According to abbot Shi Yongxin’ s introduction, all young Eucommia Ulmoides in the Shaolin Merits Forest were carefully chosen with strong adaptability. Eucommia Ulmoides is a rare, endangered endemic species of the second class of the protected plants in China. Widely planting eucommia ulmoides plays an important role in greening and beautifying the environment, whose leaves and male flowers can be made tea, not only helping the temple become self-sufficient, but also forming ties with people to benefit more sentient beings.
