The Philippine Shaolin Cultural Center Announcing Its Establishment Recently
Recently, the Philippine Shaolin Cultural Center announced its establishment. The center’ s principle master Shi Yanyi is a monk from Shaolin Temple. Master Shi Yanyi, well-educated and trained in military exercises, appointed by abbot of Shaolin Temple the Grand Monk Shi Yongxin, reached the Philippines to carry forward Buddhist dharma and benefit sentient beings. The center regards carrying forward traditional Chinese culture and Shaolin Chan(Meditation) Wu(martial arts) Yi(medicine) Yi(arts) as its own responsibility, devoting itself to the spread of Shaolin wisdom in the Philippines to promote Sino-Philippine cultural exchanges and people-to-people bonds and provide double welfare of spirit and health to locals.

The Philippine Shaolin Cultural Center is located at the junction between Manila and Makati. The Grand Monk Shi Yongxin, abbot of Shaolin Temple, personally appointed master Shi Yanyi to register, set up and manage it. The center was approved by the Philippine State Taxation Administration and the NGO committee, aiming at cultural exchanges as a bridge to inherit and carry forward Shaolin Chan Wu Yi culture and help the construction of the holy land of Mahayana Buddhism in the Southeast Asia region.
