On January 18, 2024, or the 8th day of the twelfth lunar month is Laba Festival and the enlightenment day of Sakyamuni. On the same day, Shaolin Temple, Shaolin’ s affiliated temples and overseas Shaolin cultural centers widely donated Laba porridge, enjoying Shaolin five-element Laba porridge together with Shaolin culture enthusiasts from around the world to spread equality, compassion, integration, harmony and ecological and environmental protection of Buddhist ideas and carry forward traditional national culture via donating porridge activities.
