Xiansheng Temple
Xiansheng Temple, previously named Bao’en Temple, is located in the southern part of Zhengzhou city, Henan province. Xiansheng Temple was initially built in the Tang Dynasty. There were endless stream of pilgrims because it was close to the post road. It has an important place in the history of Buddhism of Central Plains. During his reign, Emperor Qianlong passed this temple when he made an inspection trip in the south to offer incense in Shaolin Temple. Then it was granted the name of Xiansheng Temple, and was ordered to rebuild its great temple.
