Devajara Hall

天王殿.JPG

The Hall was originally Shaolin Temple’ s Gateway, built in the Yuan Dynasty and renovated many times in the dynasties of Ming and Qing. When Shaolin Temple was renovated in the 13th year of Qing Yongzheng (1735), before this hall was built another Gateway, while the original gate was named as Devajara Hall. Unfortunately it was destroyed in the war of 1928. The current Devajara Hall was rebuilt during the period from 1982 to 1983, with the layout based on the original structure. The arrangement was done as per origin. The hall has two new huge statues of Buddhist guardians in the front and four statues of Four Heavenly kings.
