Qianya Wanhe Stele

Qianya Wanhe Stele during Jiajing fifteen years (1536) of the Ming Dynasty

The stele was carved during Jiajing fifteen years (1536) of the Ming Dynasty. It is 2.45 meters tall, 0.96 meters wide and 0.18 meters thick. The Characters “Qian Ya” amd “Wan He” (that means thousands of cliffs and ravines) were separately carved on both the front and back of the stele with the character 0.6 to 1.1 meters tall. These four characters were written by Zhang Qin in the form of regular script. The stele was erected bu Zhang Cheng’ en.
