Stele of Combined Three Religions and Nine Sects
Stele of Combined Three Religions and Nine Sects was erected in praise of the drawing of the combined three religions and nine sects, on which the drawing and eulogy was made by Zhu Zaiyu, the son of King Zheng in 1565.
The drawing of Combined Three Religions and Nine Sects has summarized the spiritual inheritance and cultural feature of Chan Sect originated from Shaolin Temple. On the left side is the saint of Confucianism Confucius while the right side is the founder of Taoism Lao Zi. The combination of Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism realized sinicization and localization of the primitive Indian Buddhism and gave birth to China Chan, which was continually carried forward and spread all over the world. It is also referred to as the Shaolin Harmonious Drawing and recognized as the symbol of Shaolin culture.
